Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, David trained at the Technikon Pretoria Dance and Musical Theatre Department, attaining a Diploma with distinctions in both acting and singing. He has performed in most mediums within the entertainment field and was selected to represent SA at the 1999 World Championships of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, where he took top honours in the acting and singing categories.

Highlights in his early years of performing include working with Emmy Award-winning Director/Choreographer, the late Alan Johnson, on the South African National Tour of West Side Story and appearing in the South African Premiere of the hit musical La Cage Aux Follies. He has been fortunate to appear as an MC, singer, actor and dancer for numerous high profile corporate clients since graduating.
